last time I played Quoridor I was 12 and I could only do it once a week, for 45minutes of joy. today I'm 20 and coming back from my paris vacations: after eight long years of search, I finally founded it in a little cartier latin store in st. michel, paris. now I'm back home, back to portugal. Et bien non!, il est impossible que deux pions puissent coéxister sur une même case... mais ils peuvent dans certaines conditions sauter par-dessus des pions adverses, mais jamais s'arréter sur une case déjà ocuppée... cela dit un adversaire ne peut en aucun cas vous emprisonner derrière des barrières, il devra toujours vous laisser une sortie possible...

The rules say that if you are face to face and there is a fence behind one player, the other player can jump and end up on either side of the other pawn. It does not specify if this is also the case if the end of the board is behind the other player instead of a wall. In this case can you also do a diagonal jump?

Exactly when can I jump over the other pawn diagonally? I have the impression: only when walls block normall horizontal or vertical jumping. About face to face, you can jump across the opponent pawn diagonally or above it by vertical jump, you keep have the choice when all these possiblities are available.

When it is your turn to play, you have 2 choices:
- put a fence
-move your pawn (1 step only)
So when a fence is placed, it can't be moved or put out.

So your last possiblity is (if there is no escape diagonally) to go back one step.
